Terms of use
Last changed September 4, 2026
Written in English, which is the wording that counts.
What this is
Urlopo publishes travel guides and journal entries written by the people who use it. These terms cover what you may do here and what happens to what you write. By creating an account you agree to them.
If you do not agree with something here, do not create an account. There is nothing on this site you need one to read.
Your account
You sign in with a provider rather than a password, so keeping the account safe means keeping that provider account safe. Anything written from your account is treated as written by you.
One person, one account. You may delete yours at any time from the author area, and what that removes is described in the privacy policy.
What you write stays yours
You keep the copyright in everything you write, photograph or record. Nothing here transfers ownership of it.
By submitting an entry you give Urlopo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store it, show it on this site, and include an excerpt of it where the site links to itself — a feed, a search result, a preview card. The licence lasts as long as the entry is published here and ends when it is deleted, except for copies already made by search engines and archives, which are outside anybody's control.
You may publish the same material anywhere else. Publishing it here does not stop you.
What you may publish
Only material you made or have the right to publish. A photograph somebody else took, a route description copied from another site, or a map extract under licence are all things you need permission for, and having found them online is not permission.
Nothing unlawful, nothing that identifies a private person without their agreement, and nothing that puts somebody in danger — a route across private land described as public, or a crossing shown as safe that is not, are the ones that matter on a site about places.
Coordinates deserve their own thought. A track recorded from your front door records your front door. Trim what you upload.
Review before publication
Entries are published by a moderator rather than by their author. Sending one for review is not a promise that it will be published, and a moderator may send it back with a reason or decline it.
An entry already published may be taken down if it turns out to break these terms. Where that happens you will be told why.
Limits on the account
Accounts have limits on how many entries they may hold, how much storage they may occupy and how fast they may upload. They exist to keep the site affordable to run, not to ration what you write, and they are raised on request.
Automated use, scraping and attempts to work around those limits are not permitted.
What this site does not promise
The guides here are written by people describing places they went. They are not route plans, not safety advice, and not a substitute for a map, a forecast and your own judgement. Conditions change; a description does not.
Urlopo is offered as it is. It may be unavailable, it may lose data, and neither is something you can claim against — keep your own copy of anything you would mind losing.
Changes and contact
These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did, and continuing to use the account after a change means accepting the new version.
